Travels with Journey to the ultra LuxEcoLiving4U pet resort in Carmel California

The Cypress Inn at Carmel-by-the-Sea

Meet Sadie. She’s the Director of Pet Relations at the fabulous, extraordinarily exquisite,  Cypress Inn at Carmel-by-the-Sea.

No bones about it. If you are looking for the most popular pet resort in California, if not the world, then make a reservation for an experience that will last a lifetime. And speaking of lifetimes I cannot say enough about

Doris Day and her commitment to save pets!

From her heart to yours. The Doris Day Animal Foundation is dedicated to the proposition that we can create caring communities by acknowledging the significant interrelationship between animal welfare and human development.

The Cypress Inn demonstrates exactly what Doris Day intended. It’s a human loves animal environment where people prize the experience of being with other people who just adore their pets.

From the moment you enter ( some people bring the whole furry family) you and your dog are welcomed with a smile and a signature for approval. They want to know that your stay and their services met your every need. It is their policy and is of utmost importance to the Inn’s staff. There isn’t any request that has not been granted.

Journey was a perfect guest even while we had our treats. We were served a delicious high tea service with scones and jam in the Inn’s beautiful library.

He’s got the whole world in hand

Dinner was an amazing experience too. We began with special signature cocktails.  I had a Vodka Gimlet, Jim had a Gin Fizz and Journey made  a healthier choice. Three bowls of water.

Fresh Ahi Tuna with a medley of organic garden vegetables

Next morning, we were up early and off to the beach. Journey couldn’t wait to be off leash and meet new friends.

It was time to browse and shop. Carmel is such an enchanting little community. Every where you go you see signs of Doris Day’s influence and why people care so much for their animals.

Journey even noticed a dog that looked just like him who needed a home too!

Please take me home!

It made us think how lucky we were to have found and adopted our boy. We can’t even imagine how many pets are starving for affection and clinging to life… so many of their days are numbered.

Not all dogs suffer from abuse and abandonment. Most are loved. Especially the ones that are adopted because they know they are special.

Love Dogs

And speaking of special. We happened to notice a very cute little girl who was just adopted and her parents were so very proud. Journey noticed his Cinderella the minute we walked into the courtyard.

As we bid goodbye to the friendly Cypress Inn staff, a car full of fluffy felines pulled up and had a few sniffs. “Way too young!” replied one of the girls, “Way too big!” replied another. And to Journey’s delight the cute little one in the front next to the driver said, “He’s just right!”

Journey noticed they ALL were heavenly scented but not his type

Sorry girls! I think Little Miss P stole his heart!
